INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING

AHDL will provide technical support and expertise in the following areas:

Strengthen programme management structures

AHLD will undertake a management assessment, disseminate findings, and provide technical support to strengthen or develop management systems.

Capacity building in project management

Practically assist institutions or programmes through skills training in programme development, implementation strategy, provide mentorship to programmes and provide skills in financial management, monitoring and evaluation. AHLD believes that every institution has its own uniqueness; therefore the technical support required will be tailored according to each institution need.

RESEARCH AND EVALUATION

AHLD will undertake all types of social research and evaluation studies in the Republic of South Africa and outside South Africa. Any evaluation will be tailored according to the need of the contracting institutions. Areas of focus to include:

Baseline Study

Baseline study aimed at providing programs with benchmark data that can be used to develop program specific indicators and strategic policy direction will be undertaken according to the need of the contracting agency and program specific needs.

Evaluation study

AHLD has expertise to carry out both qualitative and quantitative evaluation.

TRAINING

A team of professionally competent trainers will provide quality training to your institution. The organization will offer two types of training, the training of trainers as a way of building capacity within your own institution and training of staff members, community members and faith based organizations in the following areas:

Comprehensive Integrated HIV/AIDS Services (Prevention, Care, Support and Treatment)	Workplace HIV/AIDS Policy development and implementation
Gender and Health	Nutrition (Introduction to basic sound nutrition knowledge and practice)

DOCUMENTATION AND MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT

AHLD will support institutions in the production of quality technical reports, develop strategic plan, proposal writing, material development, revise and edit training materials and provide technical support in the development of promotional materials.
